Runtz is an evenly balanced hybrid strain (50% indica/50% sativa) created through a delicious cross of the infamous Zkittlez X Gelato strains. Named for the iconic candy, Runtz brings on a super delicious fruity flavor with tropical citrus and sour berries galore. The aroma is very similar, although with a sharp spicy pineapple effect that turns slightly pungent as the sticky little nugs are broken apart and burned. The Runtz high comes roaring in a few minutes after your final toke, first hitting your head with a calming lift before spreading its tingly tendrils throughout the rest of your body. What is THCa, how does it work, and does it get you high?

THCa is an acidic precursor of traditional Delta-9 THC. THCa does not have the psychoactive effects of THC in its raw form. However, to unlock the psychoactive effects of THCa, it needs to go through a process called decarboxylation, which is a fancy word for heating up or lighting on fire. When you heat THCa, it converts into THC, which is what gives you the traditional marijuana high. This is why THCa flower needs to be heated before consumption to activate its psychoactive effects. 

How is THCa Legal?

THCa is legal due to the 2018 Farm Bill, which legalized industrial hemp and products derived from it, including THCa flower. As long as the THCa flower contains less than 0.3% THC by dry weight, it is considered legal under federal law.

What types of effects does THCa flower give you?

THCa flower will provide the same effects as typical THC and marijuana because, well, it is, but only after it has been heated and thus decarboxylated. Until then, the THCa flower will not produce psychoactive effects but may still have therapeutic benefits.

How do I use THCa Flower?

THCa flower is used by heating it to decarboxylate the THCa into THC. You are most likely familiar with the most common methods to convert THCa like rolling it in a joint, rolling it in a blunt, putting it in a pipe, bong or dugout. Any of these methods will easily convert over your THCa into THC and make it ready to go. All you need to remember to do light it and inhale! When using THCa flower, it is important to note that the act of heating the flower is what decarboxylates it, allowing the THC to become active.

Did the DEA really confirm this form of THCa Flower is legal? YES!
