So, what is Delta-8 THC?

So wtf is Delta-8 THC?
Let's talk about the basics first.
How is this different from CBD?
I'd say Delta-8 is a cross between THC and CBD, heavier on the THC side. D8 does have a mild psychoactive effect, so it will get you 'sort of' high. It's like 'light' weed, and that it gives one, 'the high without the anxiety or paranoia'.
What are the benefits?
While there are few studies done with D8 because it's 'newer', anecdotal testimonies have found it to be helpful alleviating anxiety, relieving pain, promoting restful sleep and helping curb nausea.
Okay, but it can't be legal then if it can get you high... right?!
It IS legal in most states- I'll list the no-no states in my next post about this. Since it is derived from hemp, it is legal under the 2018 Hemp Farm Bill unless explicitly made illegal in your state. Its in a legal grey area that is closing fast as more states pass legislation against D8 and synthesized cannabinoids.
How can you consume it?
Vaping, oil tinctures and edibles are the most common methods of consumption. 10-25mg is the average dosage, although this can vary greatly. Dosage is SUPERRRR important for D8 because too much could make you uncomfortably stoned if you're not careful
Is it natural?
Yes! And no. While Delta-8 THC is a naturally occurring cannabinoid, it's not found in quantities large enough to make large scale extraction feasible. But some industrious people who essentially cracked the code of cannabis found that you can create delta 8 FROM HEMP CBD through a series of basic chemical reactions. You can even create Delta-9 THC in a similar fashion from CBD.
